FA CUP FINAL: Winning the treble would be a dream come true for Manchester City’s Erling Haaland

June 2, 2023

Prolific Manchester City striker Erling Haaland says he is completely focused on his side’s quest to win the treble and that achieving the feat would mean everything to him.

City have already won the Premier League after they chased down Arsenal at the tail end of the season and they now face key cup finals on back-to-back weekends, with the FA Cup Final against neighbours Manchester United on Saturday followed, a week later, by the Champions League final against Inter Milan.

In an interview with the BBC Haaland said: “”It would be unreal to make this history.

“This is why they bought me of course, to get this, we don’t have to hide that.

“It would mean everything. I will do everything I possibly can to try to make it happen. It’s my biggest dream and hopefully, dreams do come true.

“But as well it’s not easy – it’s two finals against two good teams that will do everything they can to try to destroy that.

“They will be motivated, they will be ready and we have to play at our best because if we play at our best we have a really good chance of achieving exactly that.”

Regardless of what happens in the two cup finals, this has been a hugely successful season for the Norwegian international who has broken the Premier League record for most goals in a season. He has also been named the Football Writers’ Association men’s Footballer of the Year and became the first player to win both the Premier League Player and young player of the Year awards in the same season.
