LALIGA: Luka Modric extends stay at Real Madrid for one more year

Veteran Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric will not be the latest star joining the talent exodus to Saudi Arabia with news that he has signed a new one-year deal to stay at the Bernabeu.
Modric joins Toni Kroos, Dani Ceballos and Nacho Fernandez, who have all signed new deals with Los Blancos, in extending his stay in Madrid.
Modric, who arrived at Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2012 has won an incredible 23 trophies in his 11 years at Real Madrid.
Commenting on the club’s announcement of his new deal the Croatian posted a simple message on Twitter that simply read: “Home Sweet Home.”
Modric, who won the Ballon d’Or in 2018 after winning one of his five Champions League titles and picking up the Golden Ball at the World Cup in Russia, will be joined in midfield at Madrid next season by prodigy Jude Bellingham.
In deciding to stay in Madrid Modric reportedly turned down a massive offer from a Saudi Arabian Pro League side.
