Rulani Mokwena appointed new boss at Wydad Casablanca

Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena who was sacked by the club last week, is back in a job after he was confirmed on Thursday afternoon as the new boss of North African giants, Wydad Casablanca.

Wydad, who are three-time CAF Champions League winners confirmed the appointment on the social media channels with an announcement that read: “Welcome aboard coach Rulani Mokwena! Ready to lead us to victory.”

As much as Wydad are able to boast impressive credentials, they have not been in the best of form in recent times, which means Mokwena will have his work cut out in returning them to the top of the table.

Last season Wydad finished a lowly sixth in the Botola Pro 1, as cross-city rivals Raja Casablanca claimed the title without losing a game and new Kaizer Chiefs’ boss Nasreddine Nabi’s AS FAR Rabat finished second.

Mokwena has yet to comment on his appointment.
