Chiefs boss Nabi cautions patience as Amakhosi come from behind to beat Stellies

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has cautioned his club’s legion of fans to contain their levels of excitement and anticipation after Amakhosi beat Stellenbosch FC 2-1 at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday night.
It was a solid performance from Chiefs as a Wandile Duba brace saw the home side come from behind to beat Stellenbosch and claim their fifth win of the season.
Despite the win Nabi was quick to stress that there was plenty of work to do as he continues he project to rebuild the club. Speaking to the media after the game he said: “My mission here is to build a good team and in this process, we can lose, we can win like today, but we have to be realistic and not get over-excited because we won.
“We still have a lot of work to do.
“We believe that our supporters have the right to be frustrated when the results are not there, but we have to understand that sometimes it’s other people who push the agenda as they don’t want the club to succeed.
“Mfundo Vilakazi is a talent from the club academy. He’s only 19 years old, so I would say even his physical development is not yet 100%, which means that we need to protect the player.
“We need to give him time that will allow him to showcase himself and we believe that he doesn’t yet have the consistency of playing 90 minutes in successive games without time to recover.
“We feel that these minutes he’s getting are going to build his confidence, momentum and as well as the physical structure,” he said.
Chiefs will go again on Sunday when they face Golden Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium at 3.30pm.
