Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi looking forward to seeing Chiefs players back in Bafana side as soon as possible

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi says that while he doesn’t agree with Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos’ reasons for failing to select any Amakhosi players in his current squad, he doesn’t agree with them.
Chiefs have been struggling for form in recent games and currently find themselves in eighth position on the league table with just a single win from their last five games. And while Broos had looked set to include Rushwin Dortley in his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin, the big defender was sidelined due to injury.
Explaining his failure to select any Chiefs players Broos was forthright in his assessment of the situation, saying: “You can’t say that Chiefs are already back. I thought maybe at the beginning of the season, but I don’t know what happened because they are still struggling.
“And I saw them playing against Cape Town City. You can’t say that everything is alright in that team.
“When the team is better, and players play better, surely, we will call up players from Chiefs. But for now, I don’t think I have to call them because they are really struggling in the league,” he said.
Responding to the comments Nabi said: “We have to respect the choices and the decisions of the national team coach because he’s the one who makes the choices.
“That doesn’t take away from the fact that Thabo Cele is a very good player. We know that with hard work, that time will come.
“We hope that in the future, he will return to the national team,” he said.
