KDB open to Saudi Pro League move

Belgium and Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne says he is open to a move to the Saudi Pro League, although he is keeping his options open at this stage.

The attacking midfielder who has won six Premier League titles and the Champions League since joining Manchester City in 2015 has just one year left on his current deal and at 32 he is aware that he is approaching the end of his career.

Speaking to the media ahead of Belgium’s friendly against Montenegro on Wednesday, De Bruyne said: “I still have one year of contract, so I have to think about what can happen.

“My eldest [child] is now eight years old and knows nothing but England. He also asks how long I will play at City. Once the time comes, we will have to deal with it in a certain way.

“At my age, you have to be open to everything. You talk about unbelievable amounts in what may be the end of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that.”

De Bruyne added that the contracts on offer in Saudi Arabia were unbelievable, but he said whatever club he chose, he would make the decision with his family. “For Michele, an exotic adventure is OK. These are also conversations that we are increasingly having as a family.

“I am open to everything,” he said.
