Manchester United beat Sheffield United 4-2 in Wednesday’s English Premier League fixture at Old Trafford.
Jayden Bogle’s goal gave Sheffield the lead in the 35th minute before Harry Maguire levelled the scoreline for Manchester in the 42nd.
Ben Brereton DÃaz put Sheffield up 2-1 in the 50th minute before Bruno Fernandes scored and converted a penalty to make it 3-2 to Manchester.
Rasmus Hojlund scored in the 85th minute to cap United’s 16th win of the EPL season.
“Bruno showed his leadership,” said Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
“He tried to encourage the team and he is also in good form. We put him in the right position and when he is there, he makes the right decisions.
“He can create a lot, score, assist and make key actions. We are very happy with his performance and his attitude.”
The result pushed Manchester to sixth position on this season’s EPL points table. They are three points ahead of seventh-placed Newcastle United and seven behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
“Manchester United have to win every game from here – every one,” added ten Hag.
“It’s expecting we are winning the league, as a club, we are not that far. We know where we are. We have to fight for a position to get into Europe. With all our problems, we have two opportunities – in the Premier League and FA Cup.”
Manchester United will meet Manchester City in the FA Cup final on 25 May.
In Wednesday’s other EPL fixtures, Everton defeated Liverpool 2-0, Bournemouth beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 and Crystal Palace beat Newcastle United 2-0.
