Tiger Woods has withdrawn from next month’s US Open.
Woods will continue to recover from recent ankle surgery.
The injury prevented him from participating in last month’s Masters and this month’s PGA Championship, too.
“He’s resting now and will start the recovery process. The first goal is to recover and lead a much more enjoyable day-to-day life,” said Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg.
Woods’ caddie Joe LaCava added: “He still has the power, the swing speed, the shots and the length to contend. The injury is devastating.”

The US Open, which Woods has won three times, will start on 15 June at the Los Angeles Country Club in California.
Matt Fitzpatrick is the reigning US Open champion.
“Just the confidence that I can do it, I think being the biggest thing going into this US Open. That’s kind of a big thing, as well, for myself that I feel like if I can do that, I know I can contend and win,” said Fitzpatrick.
“My game feels in good shape. I just think this golf course is going to be tough. You have to do every single thing well. You can’t get away with anything.”
