Harry Kane nets record fourth hat-trick in debut season for Bayern
March 11, 2024

Former Tottenham Hotspur star striker Harry Kane set the Bundesliga alight on Saturday with a record fourth hat-trick in his debut season for German giants Bayern Munich in their 8-1 rout of Mainz.
It was the 30-year-old England captain’s 30th goal in 25 Bundesliga appearances since his transfer at the start of the season for close to £90m.
“I believe Harry can do everything,” said Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel. “He does what he has always done throughout his career. He scores, is a role model, and’s a great example.”
Kane has equaled the 30-goal mark set by Uwe Seeler in 1963/64 as the record for a debut Bundesliga season and is well on course to eclipse Robert Lewandowski’s 41-goal Bundesliga season record for most goals scored by a single player.
“I am enjoying this feeling (of breaking records). I am enjoying playing every match for the club,” revealed Kane at the post-match pres-conference. “Plenty of games left, I am hoping I will break the (30 goals) record for sure. People expect me to score goals and hopefully, I will deliver.”
With nine games left in the Bundesliga season, Bayern trails Bayer 04 Leverkusen by 10 points and will be hoping the table-toppers start dropping points.
“Leverkusen are favourites to win the league. We have to try and win all of the games left as this is the business end of the season,” added Kane.
