Jadon Sancho’s time at Manchester United may be over after the club released a statement confirming that there were issues between the player and manager Erik Ten Hag, which have led to the midfielder training away from the rest of the team.

Sancho was omitted from the United side that faced Arsenal ahead of the international break with Ten Hag suggesting the reason for the player’s absence was due to a lack of performance on the training ground.

Sancho, who was signed from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of GBP73 million, spoke out after the Arsenal game suggesting that he had been used as a scapegoat by Ten Hag for a long time.

At the time Sancho wrote: “I will not allow people to say things that are completely untrue, I have conducted myself very well in training this week.

“I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!”

The player’s outspoken and contrary stance is said to have incensed the manager leading the club to issue a statement which said: “Jadon Sancho is on a personal training programme away from the first team, pending the resolution of a squad discipline issue.”
