Kyle Walker signs Manchester City contract extension

England defender Kyle Walker has signed a new deal with Manchester City that will keep him at The City of Manchester Stadium until he is 35 years old.

 

City’s Director of Football Txiki Begiristain said as far as he was concerned Walker was the best rightback in the world at the moment. He said: “We are very happy that Kyle will be here until 2026.

“For me, he is the best right-back in the world, a player with a unique set of attributes. He brings a very special dynamic to our team. Kyle has been a huge part of our recent success.”

Indeed, since joining City from Tottenham Hotspur, Walker has won 13 major trophies in six years.

“I’m thrilled to sign a new deal,” he said.

“My future is with Manchester City and that is the best thing for me.

“I’ve enjoyed every single moment of the past six years at this fantastic club. I have an amazing coach, great team-mates and staff, and our fans are the best. I feel supported on every single level.”

Walker, who scored for England against Ukraine during the international break, is due to be back in action again for City on the weekend when they travel to London to face West Ham.
