MTN8: Molefi Ntseki negates ‘noise’ as Kaizer Chiefs secure MTN8 semi-final berth

August 14, 2023

Molefi Ntseki negates

New head coach Molefi Ntseki expressed gratitude after Kaizer Chiefs beat Cape Town City 2-1 in Sunday’s MTN8 semi-final at Athlone Stadium.

Chiefs will play Mamelodi Sundowns in one MTN8 semi-final. Stellenbosch and Orlando Pirates will contest the other semi-final.

“I need to thank the management and the board of the club because the appointment was made mainly to have a need of continuation in terms of the tactical plan of the club,” said Ntseki, who succeeded former Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane earlier this year.

“There was a lot of noise about other coaches coming to Kaizer Chiefs and the club never said anything about anybody coming to the club.

“It was the plan from the club to have somebody from within so that we can continue with our technical team.

“As for the public and anybody who had questions about me, I’ve said and I’m saying it again it is normal. In South Africa you are declared useless before you’re even born and I think it’s a process you need to understand.

“When you are carried for nine months there is a respect and belief that whoever is going to be born on this earth you will have a big contribution to make.”

The first legs of the MTN8 semi-finals are scheduled for 2 September 2023. The second legs are scheduled for 23 September 2023.
