PSL: Andile Jali leaving Mamelodi Sundowns on ‘amicable basis’

Midfielder Andile Jali’s five-year stay at Mamelodi Sundowns will end this week.
Jali joined Sundowns from KV Oostende in the Belgian Pro League in 2018. He had previously played for Orlando Pirates in the Premier Soccer League, too.
“We are in the process of finalising a mutual termination, which will be done during the course of this week. He will leave on a positive and amicable basis,” Jali’s agent, Mike Makaab, told SABC Sport.
“I know that Sundowns are very appreciative of the value that Andile has brought to the club and he is too of the way he was welcomed.”
Jali’s final appearance for Sundowns was early February 2023’s Nedbank Cup round of 32 fixture Richards Bay. He had reportedly arrived at training under the influence of alcohol.
“An official statement will come from the club. There’s absolutely nothing else to him leaving other than purely technical reasons,” added Makaab.
Sundowns are the reigning Premier Soccer League champions. They have won the league for six successive seasons. The last team to win the Premier Soccer League was BidVest Wits in 2017.
