Red Bull urged to get Horner investigation sorted as soon as possible

February 19, 2024

The ongoing investigation into allegations of misconduct against Red Bull team principal Christian Horner appear no closer to resolution, although all parties involved have expressed satisfaction with the process that continues to unfold.

When Red Bull launched their new car this weekend Horner was present, and he was quick to refute the allegations against him.

Speaking to the media he said: “I obviously deny the allegations that have been made but I’m going through a process and fully respect that process.”

Meanwhile a statement from F1 urged the Red Bull team to resolve the complaint as quickly as possible. “We hope that the matter will be clarified at the earliest opportunity after a fair and thorough process.

“We have noted Red Bull has instigated an independent investigation into internal allegations at Red Bull Racing.

“We will not comment further at this time.”

Red Bull’s engine partner from 2026 will be Ford and they too issued a statement on the matter with Mark Rushbrook, their global head of Performance Motorsport, saying: “As a family company, and a company that holds itself to very high standards of behaviour and integrity, we do expect the same from our partners.

“It appears to us, and what we’ve been told, was that Red Bull is taking the situation very seriously. And of course, they’re worried about their brand, as well.

“And that’s why they’ve got an independent investigation and until we see what truth comes out of that, it’s too early for us to comment on it all,” he said.

There is no date set for the conclusion of the investigation which centres around allegations of ‘inappropriate and controlling behaviour’ from a female colleague.

The new F1 season starts on the first weekend of March and Horner and his team will be hoping that the matter has been resolved by then.
