Severe weather warnings sounded ahead of weekend’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

The weekend’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix could be compromised due to bad weather with the Italian Met Office issuing severe weather warnings for the next few days.
The race is set to take place at Imola on Sunday but the region surrounding the Imola track has already been bombarded with heavy winds and rain. Two people have been killed in the area while countless others have been forced to evacuate their homes.
The Met Office has warned of floods and possible landslides with suggestions that there could be as much as 100mm falling before Wednesday night.
Although the rain will reportedly abate as the week goes on there are still predictions of showers on both practice and qualifying days while thunderstorms are predicted for race day.
