Springboks beat Argentina in Johannesburg, name squad for Buenos Aires trip

Springboks beat Argentina 22-21 in Saturday’s Rugby Championship fixture at Ellis Park in Johannesburg.
Eben Etzebeth, Damian de Allende and Manie Libbok scored tries for the Springboks.
Mateo Carreras and Gonzalo Bertranou scored tries for Argentina.
Coach Jacques Nienaber, meanwhile, has named a 26-man squad for next week’s Rugby Championship fixture against Argentina in Buenos Aires.
Evan Roos and Deon Fourie are among the noteable inclusions. Willie le Roux, Handre Pollard and Grant Williams are among the noteable exclusions.
“Next week’s match is the last opportunity for the players to make a strong statement for selection before we name our Rugby World Cup squad, and we are excited to see what those players will deliver in what is going to be a testing encounter in Buenos Aires,” said Nienaber.
“It’s extremely tough to play there, and Argentina enjoys massive support from their vocal home crowd, so it’s not only going to be a physical test for the players, but a mental one as well.”
