TENNIS: Andy Murray joins Rafael Nadal in French Open withdrawal
May 23, 2023

Andy Murray has withdrawn from the 2023 French Open.
Murray, though, will be available for Wimbledon later this year.
“It’s just what the right thing is to prioritise at this stage in my career,” Murray told the Guardian.
“I trust my body now but I’m aware that my best chance of having a deep run is more likely to happen at Wimbledon.”

Last week, 14-time French Open champions Rafael Nadal withdrew as well.
“I didn’t make the decision, my body made the decision. To play Roland Garros is impossible,” Nadal said at the time.
“Next year will probably be my last year. That is my idea. If I keep going now I won’t be able to make it happen.”
